In 1996 the academically qualified engineer Peter Weißferdt founded the office of Consultant for Energy Projects (IEE) in Kiel after more than 25 years of successful activities as a designer and producer of high-voltage plants with the aim of planning and implementing innovative connection systems for the wind energy branch and the industry.

The meteoric development of the wind energy has quickly led to an expansion of the team and the premises which today are located at the Villa Luise, Hindenburgufer, Kiel´s most beautiful Baltic seaside promenade.

Since the beginning of 2002, the academically qualified engineer Alfons Sommer with his comprehensive expertise and knowledge of the industry in the field of high-voltage plants has been a partner in the office.

The innovations in the field of high-voltage plants devoloped be IEE include:

  • Development of low-cost standardized transformer substations for the wind energy up to a tension of 400 kV
  • Development of offshore transformer substations in co-operation with the Lindenau shipyard in Kiel
  • Foundation of the company UBS Transformer substation Operating and Service Company for the execution of network and plant management of transformer substations with a main office and control room in Kiel and service bases in Leipzig and Neubrandenburg.

IEE is supporter of the regenerative energy and plays an active role for:

  • Association work for the regenerative associations like BWE and BEE by technical advice
  • Collaboration with federal clearing house as member and technical advisor of the regenerative associations
  • Collaboraion on the composition of text submissions in the technical area for the EEG
  • Examination and analyses of energy feeding and grid connection contracts between utilities and regenerative energy feeding conpanies
  • Consultants for application of the EGG in conformity with the law between utilities und regenerative energy feeding companies

Whatever requirements regarding the feeding and supply of energy are to be met in the future, the office of consulting engineers IEE with its comprehensive expertise and competence will be at your disposal at any time in a correct, cost minimizing and innovative way.
